Skylark House care home in Horsham, Sussex provides a wide range of personalised care services for older people.

Our team delivers expert residential, dementia care, nursing care and short-term respite care. When the time comes, we also offer compassionate, non-intrusive end of life care, looking after everything, and allowing you to focus on your loved one.

Close to the centre of the picturesque town of Horsham, our care home also has some fantastic facilities, including a large, secure garden overlooking the riverside walk. We also have a bar and a cosy cinema where residents can watch their favourite films.

I’m in my element when I’m with residents and learning more about their lives – that’s the best part of what I do. Interacting with them and knowing I’m making a difference to their day is a great feeling. I also enjoy the compliance and governance part of my role. I start and finish every day with a smile, and that’s what makes me happy.

I often visit at mealtimes and my loved one is very satisfied with the food, she eats everything that is served to her. She lived a very high lifestyle so would eat out at expensive restaurants, she appreciates quality food. There is always an option that appeals to her and she has never once compained about the food.

The manager is just fantastic. The person at the top sets the tone for the entire home. The transformation I've seen since this woman took over as manager is notable. The staff always seem happy, always say hello with a smile, the whole atmosphere is now so friendly and welcoming, and that is in large part down to the new manager.

They design the care around the needs of the residents, not around the needs of the home. They recognize my loved one's individual needs and respond to them. Furthermore, they keep me informed when there is something that is changing or if they notice something in her behaviour that is concerning them.
