In autumn 2024, we joined forces with local food banks and primary school children across the UK to celebrate Harvest Festival.
Each year, Harvest Festival celebrates the time when crops have been gathered from fields and people can reflect and show gratitude for the food that they have. It dates back to when people relied on local crops for food and famers would give thanks for a good harvest.
As part of our celebrations, Care UK homes across the UK contributed to a food bank drive. From October 1st to October 31st, members of the local community dropped off their extra, unused, or non-perishable food items at our care homes across the country. For every donation made at our homes, Care UK added to the contribution to local foodbanks, to increase our impact and help more people in need.
From scarecrow trails to food collections, see how our homes gave thanks for a good harvest.
