Care UK shortlisted in the LaingBuisson Awards

Care UK has been announced as a finalist in the Excellence in Large Residential Care category at the LaingBuission Awards

The LaingBuisson Awards recognise and celebrate industry excellence and innovation in social care, clinical services and associated advisory, property and financial roles.

Care UK's Fulfilling Lives approach to care and quality has impressed the judges. This approach enables home teams to continue to enrich the lives of residents by prioritising their personal preferences, wellbeing, and independence.

Providing high quality care continues to be the priority at Care UK, with 91% of its care homes rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’, which is once again, an increase on previous years. Care UK has also managed to score its highest ever customer satisfaction levels, with 96% of residents saying that they felt their home ‘was a safe place to live’.  Employee engagement is also on the rise with 85% of people saying they are proud of the work they do. Care UK is one of few providers to have continued to improve regulatory compliance throughout, and beyond, the pandemic.

In September 2022, Care UK celebrated its 40th anniversary by giving back to the communities in which it operates. Coming together as one Care UK family – made up of colleagues, residents, and their loved ones - with a goal of raising £40,000 in 40 days to support charitable organisations across the UK. Teams and residents organised daring challenges and fun events, from abseiling the O2 Stadium to a 400-mile cycle ride. In total, they raised £43,000 for charities across the UK, exceeding the original £40,000 target.

Care UK’s ‘Wishing Tree’ initiative has also helped residents to fulfil their lifelong dreams – no matter how ambitious, with its teams working tirelessly to make wishes a reality. Last year, an 89-year-old resident from Dashwood Manor went skydiving and twin sisters at Mountbatten Grange enjoyed a weekend-long cruise.

Care UK also partners with not-for-profit organisations to support colleagues. For example, the company has a long-standing mutually supportive partnership with the Care Workers Charity. Its hospitality teams are continuously evolving kitchen standards and are sector leaders in the global #FairKitchens movement, aimed at improving the wellbeing of catering teams.

Care UK will find out whether it has won the award on 16th November in London at the LaingBuisson Awards ceremony.
