Care UK has been shortlisted in six categories for this year’s Leaders in Care Awards, including the Care Provider of the Year category.
The Leaders in Care Awards celebrates the achievements of care providers in the UK and the suppliers that serve them.
The shortlist includes the following six categories:
As well as Care UK being shortlisted for the prestigious ‘Care Provider of the Year’ category, CEO Andrew Knight is shortlisted for Executive of the Year in recognition of his leadership and commitment to listening and acting upon feedback from colleagues in our homes. This has enabled Care UK to flourish - securing some of the strongest customer satisfaction and regulatory ratings in the sector; returning consistently strong commercial performance; and delivering one of the most ambitious social care growth programmes in the UK.
Perry Manor in Worcester is shortlisted in the Innovation in Care Homes category, which highlights the strategy for the home’s Malvern suite. The creation of the award-winning Malvern suite in October 2021, provides support for residents with simultaneous neurological conditions and mental health needs.
Oxbow Manor in Shrewsbury is shortlisted for Care Home Design of the Year. The stand-out features include its front-of-house interior space, which includes a hair salon, cinema, bar frontage and café. This area was designed to maximise the available space and create a wow-factor for visitors from the moment they walk through the front door.
Anees Rias, Home Manager at Lauder Lodge in Edinburgh is shortlisted in the Leaders of the Future category for her dedication and commitment to making the home the most comfortable and empowering place for both residents, and colleagues, to be. Anees is loved, admired, and respected by residents, relatives and colleagues alike. As one relative commented, “Anees is always smiling, her door is always open, and she is always very welcoming. Her approach and positive outlook towards the residents are reflected within the team.”
The final shortlisting is for Bozena Szczepaniak, Home Manager of The Burroughs in West Drayton in the Registered Manager of the Year category. Bozena started her career as a chemotherapy nurse, helping cancer patients in Poland. She joined Care UK 15 years ago and has risen through the ranks to lead the team at The Burroughs.
The winners will be announced during a gala dinner and awards ceremony on Tuesday 10th October at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham.
