80^th Anniversary of VE Day

This May, we’re leading the way to commemorate the 80^th Anniversary of VE Day.

On Victory in Europe Day on 8^th May 1945, communities up and down the country came together to celebrate an emotional end to six years of fighting during World War Two.

Many residents living in Care UK care homes across the country lived through this poignant period, and so we’re proud to be hosting commemorative VE Day events at more than 150 of our care homes across the country for residents and the local community to take part in.

We’ll be stepping back in time with 1940s-themed street parties, hosting local history talks and intergenerational activities with younger generations, and putting on some live entertainment to mark this momentous occasion in British history.
