Triple shortlisting for the NACC Awards

Care UK has been shortlisted in three categories at the prestigious National Association of Care Catering (NACC) Awards.

Care UK’s Hospitality Manager, Andrew Musset, is a finalist in the Catering Manager of the Year Award category. Two Care UK homes - Highmarket House and Edgbaston Manor – are also shortlisted in the Care Establishment of the Year and Catering Team of the Year Award categories respectively.

The NACC Awards recognises and celebrates the very special catering teams and chefs working in various care establishments around the country.

Care UK supports all the chefs and kitchen teams in its care homes across the country to deliver delicious, high-quality meals that allow every resident to ‘Dine with Dignity’ regardless of any dietary requirements. From training every chef in catering for modified IDDS diets to promoting entertaining food-related events such as global food festivals, the team supports every chef to be the best they can. Care UK takes pride in holding a 76% resident satisfaction score, which highlights how devoted our catering teams are to making residents’ lives the best they can be.

From co-authoring a selection of Care UK recipe books for colleagues and relatives to use, to helping teams make continued improvements to ensure the food for residents is the best that it can be, Andrew Musset’s excellent leadership skills and flexible, creative approach make him a worthy finalist in the Catering Manager of the Year category.

The catering team at Edgbaston Manor care home is a hardworking, close-knit and diverse group of individuals who work together to ensure their person-centred service is of the highest standards at all times. From hosts to chefs, the team works to promote a positive dining experience, as they recognise that it is a key part of each resident’s day, which is why they are a strong contender in the Catering Team of the Year category.

From special dietary requirements to the birthday cakes, the kitchen team at Highmarket House knows how to make every day special for residents. Residents and relatives’ inputs are always considered in designing a new menu.  Quality is key and feedback consistently shows that Highmarket House are getting it right. Their commitment to provide five-star meals whilst ensuring that food is nutritionally balanced has earned them a spot in the finals for the Care Establishment of the Year category.

The winners of the NACC Awards will be announced on 5th October during a gala dinner ceremony in Nottingham.
