Cumberland is a comfortable and welcoming care home in Mitcham, Surrey, that provides quality residential, dementia and nursing care for older people.

Our Surrey home has activity and sensory rooms, a quiet room, a comfortable lounge and dining room, as well as inviting outdoor spaces that are wheelchair accessible. Bedrooms are spacious and cosy, with ensuite facilities, and your loved one can personalise their room however they wish. There’s also a 24-hour nurse call system and TV connection point in each room.

We get to know each new resident, from their physical needs through to their personality, what they like to do, where they used to live, their hobbies and interests. Then we set about creating care and lifestyle plans that are unique to them.

We pride ourselves on the transparency of our care quality and fee information - ensuring you can trust us to care from that very first step.

We tailor activities to residents’ interests so that they can enjoy meaningful experiences every day. We might do arts and crafts, have a news review session, watch a film or do a reminiscence activity – everything is designed around the people we care for.

Every day in the home is different and I enjoy seeing residents adjust to the new environment and when they get better, seeing families smile after visits. I also have the joy of supporting and watching new staff learn and adapting to new ways of working.

My loved one is happy there… the staff are always quick to help when she needs something and they really understand what is going on with her… they spend time talking with her and getting her involved in things… she's a bit of a fussy eater, but they even have her eating regular meals and have made special arrangements for her.

The staff are brilliant. They always treat my loved one so kindly and with respect. Whenever I visit someone always comes in to say hi to him and see if he needs anything. They treat him very well and they make an effort to get to know him, his likes and dislikes, his moods, his individual needs.

The staff are so helpful and friendly, they keep you informed at all times. They are also very lovely and compassionate to both the residents and relatives.

I am happy with the staff and facilities. The communication is above and beyond of what I could of hoped for! They are constantly in touch with you and when you go in they are very helpful. My dad smiles and they interact with him caringly. All round the best care service he has had so far.
