Welcome to Collingwood Court

Collingwood Court is a modern, purpose-built care home in Chirton. Our friendly and welcoming team provide personalised residential and respite care including those who are living with dementia.

At Collingwood Court we work hard to ensure our care home feels like a comfortable home-from-home where residents can relax and enjoy doing the things they love. Residents’ bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, with en-suite facilities, stylish furniture, a 24-hour nurse call system and television and telephone connections.

Some of the rooms on our ground floor even open onto our lovely established gardens. Your loved one is also free to personalise their room in any way they choose, to help them feel more at home.

We pride ourselves on the transparency of our care quality and fee information - ensuring you can trust us to care from that very first step.

As soon as you enter Collingwood Court, you’ll notice the strong sense of family that we have. Relatives play a big part in home life, and can visit whenever they wish. There’s always something happening too, from activities, entertainment and outings to visits from volunteers and local schoolchildren.

The staff treat residents as individuals and they genuinely want the best for them. They actively encourage my loved one to use her mind and involve her in the activities that take place within the home on a regular basis. The activities coordinator is brilliant, there is always something going on. The care staff spend time chatting with her, include her in conversations and they have a laugh. They provide professional, competent care with excellent leadership.

The staff are really good in all areas - the activities director, cleaners and maintenance staff as well as carers. The general environment is a really healthy, comfortable environment for my loved one and there is always something going on in terms of activities. The focus on music is excellent for people with Alzheimer's and they often have singers and dancers coming in.

All the staff are very friendly with both residents and family members alike, and they take good care of my loved one, which is the most important thing… he feels very well cared for. He enjoys the food, which is varied and plentiful... he is eating much better than before he went into the home. He is doing well there and he feels safe and happy.

If she needs anything, staff are there, nothing is ever an issue for them. Staff do whatever you ask them to do and in a friendly way.
