Middlesborough care home named in top 20 for second time

A care home in Middlesborough has been named one of the best in the county by the UK’s leading care home review website for the second time.  

The website, carehome.co.uk, annually announces the winners of the Care Home Awards, which recognises the top-rated homes in each region, and The Willows has been listed as one of the best from over 687 care homes in the North East.

The Care UK home, located on Cavendish Road, is known for its commitment to enabling residents to lead active and fulfilling lives. One of the celebrated aspects of The Willows is that it provides daily group and one-to-one activities which are led by the lifestyle team.  

The list of the most recommended care homes across the UK is compiled based on both the individual home and the care group review score, which is calculated using reviews provided by service users and relatives. 

With a score of 10, the highest possible rating, 100 per cent of reviewers for The Willows rated the care home as ‘excellent’. 

One review said: “The level of care and compassion Dad received went above and beyond our expectations. There were times we couldn't visit due to Covid but we never worried about Dad. We were kept fully informed at all times and nothing was too much trouble.”

Another review said: “Fantastic care home! Cannot give them enough credit. I have worked in healthcare for 11 years and I have to say, the care, compassion and understanding from the [staff] here was some of the best I've ever seen!... [The Team] deserve so much credit and recognition for going above and beyond with our family and I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anybody.”

Another review said: “The [staff] are brilliant and go above and beyond for residents.”
