Time to par-tea! Care home celebrates its 2nd birthday

A care home in Ashford marked its second anniversary with a ‘par-tea’ full of celebrations. 

Care UK’s Montfort Manor, on Kennington Road, pulled out all the stops for a special birthday bash, two years after it welcomed the first residents. 

 

Residents had the opportunity to dance and tap their feet to a live performance from professional entertainer, Martin Fairbrother. Everyone was also treated to a glass of bubbly and a slice of birthday cake, which was specially prepared by Montfort Manor’s Head Chef, Anna Sudak. Following an afternoon of entertainment from Martin’s show, team members prepared an afternoon tea for residents, which included a selection of cakes and sandwiches thoughtfully prepared by the catering team.

Commenting on the celebrations, resident Kathleen said: “What a wonderful afternoon we have had, I can’t wait for another birthday!”. 

Roda Williams, Home Manager at Montfort Manor, said: “It was wonderful to see all the residents singing along and dancing in the lounge to toast our special milestone."

 “The whole team worked hard to organise the event, and I am delighted to say that their efforts were rewarded – our birthday party will definitely be one to remember for years to come. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who celebrated our second birthday with us, and for helping to make the day extra special."

Montfort Manor is a purpose-built care home which has been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The home provides full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for older people in Ashford, as well as short-term respite care, and incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities, including its own cinema, hairdressing salon and café.
