Fit for a queen – Newbury care home celebrates the Queen’s birthday in style

A Newbury care home hosted its very own royal celebrations to mark the Queen’s 95th Birthday. 

Residents at Care UK’s Winchcombe Place, on Maple Crescent, were delighted to spend the day enjoying a royal afternoon tea, singalong and monarchy-themed quiz. 

 

Kerry Thompson, Home Manager at Winchcombe Place, said: “We had a wonderful time celebrating the Queen’s 95th Birthday here at Winchcombe Place.

“We have many residents that have grown up following the royal family, and enjoy reminiscing about their favourite milestones over the years. Whether its the coronation, jubilees, or even birthdays, many of these occasions are linked to joyous and happy memories for residents, which they love sharing with one another.

“It was a fantastic afternoon, and we are already looking forward to planning activities for next year’s platinum jubilee!”

Winchcombe Place is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing, dementia and short-term respite care. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, hair salon and café.
