Welcome to Winchcombe Place

Winchcombe Place is a modern, purpose-built care home in Newbury, Berkshire. Our team provide permanent and short-term respite care, including residential, and dementia care. We also offer compassionate end of life care.

We believe that living in a care home should be just as good as living in your own home – or better. Our home has a hair and beauty salon, coffee shop and cinema along with a library, vintage-themed lounge and an arts and crafts room, so residents can continue to enjoy the very best lifestyle.

Each bedroom has en-suite facilities, and our ground floor rooms even open directly onto our lovely secure gardens and every room has its own flat-screen TV, phone and internet connections.

We pride ourselves on the transparency of our care quality and fee information - ensuring you can trust us to care from that very first step.

My favourite part of the day is walking around the home and talking to residents, relatives and colleagues. By spending time with residents, I find out what else we can be doing to enhance their lives.

They just seem to be completely in tune with our loved one's needs, and nothing seems to be too much trouble. When we visit they always make us feel welcome and they volunteer information rather than having to be asked. We can't fault the way they have looked after our loved one... from the very start they have been nothing but helpful and accommodating.

The level of empathy and the attitude of the care team is unbelievable! My loved one is bedbound and she is limited with her communication now, but the team treats her just the same as everyone else. They pop in a lot just to say hello and make sure she is ok, and when they have time they will sit and chat with her even though she can't respond. It's amazing what they do for her, and it just goes from strength to strength as her condition deteriorates... I can’t thank them enough!

I've been impressed with the way the place is run. The team seems relaxed, caring and friendly, and I always feel welcome no matter what time I visit. I feel she is being looked after well, and it's a friendly environment.
