Birthday celebrations were in full swing at Charlotte House when resident Gladys Cooper celebrated the special milestone.
The party was hosted by the team at the care home, and included refreshments and profiteroles specially prepared by Charlotte House’s chefs.
Gladys was born in Kensal Rise, North West London, on 22nd June 1915. She was a bookkeeper for Sainsbury’s first, then Unigate, and also made fascinators.
She married her husband, who was a civil servant, in 1939, and had one daughter, Paulette. Gladys also has two grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, with her family now spanning five generations.
A fun-loving character, Gladys likes to tell everyone she used to be a gymnast. She also enjoys needle work and making cuddly toys.
Zoe Smith, home manager at Charlotte House, said: “We love celebrating the special days like birthdays to ensure the residents feel at home. Gladys has been with us for nearly two years now, and it was wonderful to celebrate another incredible milestone with her.
“We held a special party and she had a really wonderful time celebrating with her family and friends.”
