Beverley care home celebrates second birthday in style

Home news

A care home in Beverley threw a birthday bonanza to celebrate the home’s second anniversary—and some very special guests joined the celebrations.

The team at Care UK’s Chapter House, on Keldgate, previously operated by Springfield Healthcare, were joined by members of the Beverley community as they pulled out all the stops for the special birthday bash, to mark two years since the home officially opened its doors.

The Home celebrated with a live performance from local entertainers, JRH Entertainment LTD, with each floor of the care home having their own singer, who performed a variety of well know songs to get the residents singing and moving to the beat.

To mark the occasion, children from Beverley Minster Primary School were given the opportunity to design birthday cakes for Chapter House. Residents then chose their favourite submissions and whittled them down to three winning cake designs—one for each floor of the home, with Jack, Freya and Isabelle winning the judges choice for their brightly coloured cakes. Team members and residents from Chapter House awarded the children their prices in an assembly at their school.

Commenting on the afternoon’s celebrations, resident Joan aged 92 said: “Things went with a swing! The music and atmosphere were fantastic, and we sang happy birthday and enjoyed a delicious Victoria Sponge cake and a glass of prosecco.”

Robert Hall, Home Manager at Chapter House, said: “We loved welcoming relatives and community friends into the home to join the residents and enjoy the party atmosphere as we marked Chapter House’s second birthday in style.

“The residents loved picking their favourite cake designs from the talented Beverley Minster Primary School children, so we wanted to extend a special thank you to them for creating what turned out to be some delicious designs!

“The last two years have absolutely flown by! We’ve welcomed wonderful residents into the home, built long-lasting relationships with the local community and hosted countless themed days and parties – from marking special milestones and birthdays, to a fantastic summer fair.

“The whole team worked hard to create a birthday party to remember, and I am delighted to say their efforts were a huge success. I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who makes Chapter House an amazing place to call home, and for helping to make the day extra special – here’s to the next two years and beyond!”

Chapter House offers full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. The home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, hair salon and café. The layout of the building is configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
