Team members at a care home in Norwich have raised £1,254 for Alzheimer’s Society.
Kelly Gibson and Anne-Marie Campling, team members at Care UK’s Cavell Court, on Dragonfly Lane, put their best foot forward to complete the Trek 26 Suffolk Walk to fundraise for Alzheimer’s Society.
The duo walked 14 miles, starting and ending in Thorpeness, and raised £627 – a figure that Care UK matched to bring the grand total to £1,254.
Kelly and Anne-Marie presented the fantastic donation to Cheryl Day from Alzheimer's Society. Cheryl said: “Thank you to everyone at Cavell Court for such a generous donation and for all your hard work. We’re proud to have built such a wonderful relationship with the care home and look forward to seeing these funds really make a difference.”
Karen Curle, Home Manager at Cavell Court, said: “Well done Kelly and Anne-Marie for stepping up and completing the trek for a charity that is extremely close to everyone’s hearts here at Cavell Court.
“One in three people born in the UK today will be diagnosed with dementia in their lifetime*, which is why it’s important for us to raise funds for such an important cause.
“I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported Kelly and Anne-Marie and to Care UK for matching everyone’s fantastic donations.”
