A Stroud care home is opening its doors to the community for a day of summer fun.
From 10am-3pm on Sunday 1st September, the team at Care UK’s Scarlet House on Westward Way, is welcoming the community to join residents for a summer fete.
Guests can enjoy a range of dementia friendly arts and crafts activities including paper mâché bowl making, biscuit decorating and face painting.
In addition, guests can also enjoy complimentary refreshments, including ice cream, meet the team at Scarlet House and take a tour of the home.
Suzanne Tullett, Home Manager at Scarlet House, said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming local people to our summer fete.
“As well as being a fun day for all ages, participating in arts and crafts can also be a valuable reminiscence activity, especially for those living with dementia who will have spent time crafting in their youth.
“We’re part of a strong community here in Stroud, and we’re looking forward to seeing some familiar faces – and some new ones – and showing people exactly what life is like here at Scarlet House.”
Scarlet House is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing, dementia, and short-term respite care. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, hair salon and café.
