A care home in Colchester is inviting the local community to toast a special milestone – it's 30th birthday.
On Tuesday 23rd April, from 2pm-6pm, Care UK’s Tall Trees, on Oaks Place, is hosting a 1950s themed party to mark 30 years since the home’s opening.
On the day, there will be live entertainment from local group, Mini Concerts, who will be performing a range of classic 50s favourites – sure to get everyone dancing. The Museum in the Park is also kindly providing a host of artifacts from the 1950s, helping visitors get into the true spirit of the era.
Guests will also be treated to a celebratory cake, specially made by the home’s talented catering team, as well as have the chance to enjoy a range of tasty party food.
Since opening in 1994, Tall Trees has built strong relationships with the local community, including local schools and nurseries. Over the years, the home has won numerous awards thanks to the team’s strong focus on person-centred care – as well as being crowned the 2022 winners of the My Home Life Essex Community Association Friends and Neighbours (FaNs) care home bake-off.
Alice Banda, Home Manager at Tall Trees, said: “We’re thrilled to be inviting the community to join us in celebrating our 30th birthday.
“It’s been a wonderful three decades years and we’ve created some incredible memories together with the residents here at Tall Trees. We’ve welcomed some real characters into the home, built long-lasting relationships with our neighbours and hosted plenty of exciting events!
“We can’t wait to see everyone come together to enjoy the celebrations and listen to residents share their favourite moments of life at Tall Trees!”
Tall Trees provides full-time residential, nursing, dementia, and short-term respite care. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own café and dedicated Namaste room.
