A care home in Sidcup embraced the summer spirit with a cowboy themed garden party.
Residents at Care UK’s Smyth Loge, on Frognal Avenue, took a special staycation and experienced the ‘wild wild west’ from the comfort of the home’s garden.
On the day, team members and residents donned their best Stetsons to enjoy a game of bow and arrows, with residents and team members pairing up to hit the targets.
In true summer fashion, residents enjoyed a barbecue prepared by the home’s Head Chef, Adam Bain, which included all the classics: burgers, hot dogs, salads and a favourite at Smyth Lodge – spatchcock chicken. Residents later enjoyed ice creams, alongside a supply of mocktails to keep everyone hydrated under the Sidcup sunshine.
Tracey Cheeseman, Home Manager at Smyth Lodge said: “We really kicked off July in style with our fantastic Wild West themed garden party.
“Here at Smyth Lodge, we are always looking to host fun and creative activities that offer residents a memorable experience. It was wonderful to see the smiles on residents’ faces as the team strutted out into the garden in some rather fabulous outfits.
“We look forward to creating more memorable and imaginative activities for the residents to enjoy this summer. Long may the sunshine remain!”
