Bracknell care home donates £300 for local children’s charity

Residents and team members at a care home in Bracknell have donated funds to a deserving local charity.

Bickerton House donated a total of £310 to support Camp Mohawk, a local children’s charity, who are using the funds towards a sensory room projector.

 

Located just outside Wargrave, Berkshire, Camp Mohawk is a multipurpose day centre for children with special needs and their families. The facility offers a variety of programmes, services, and outdoor areas all year long to assist children with a range of needs to play, interact with others, and learn in a safe and nurturing environment.

Team members and residents travelled to Camp Mohawk to present the cheque in person. The team at Camp Mohawk gave the residents a tour of the site, with the highlight being a jamming session with Alan, a Camp Mohawk team member, in the music room. 

Erika Smith, Home Manager at Bickerton House, said: “It was fantastic to visit Camp Mohawk and present the cheque to the hardworking team there in person.

“Here at Bickerton House, we love supporting local charities. We are thrilled to be supporting Camp Mohawk so they can continue their much-needed work in the community.

“We look forward to doing more charity fundraisers in the coming months.” 

Bickerton House has been designed to encourage residents to live active and fulfilling lives, while remaining as independent as possible in a safe environment. The state-of-the-art care home provides full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, and features a bar and café, cinema, hair salon, activities room and garden.
