Stratford-upon-Avon care home celebrates anniversary with gr-eight fanfare

A care home in Stratford-upon-Avon celebrated its eighth anniversary. 

Care UK’s Ambleside, on Evesham Road, pulled out all the stops for a special birthday bash, eight years after it welcomed the first residents.

Guests had the opportunity to dance and tap their feet to live music from a professional entertainer, and were treated to a slice of birthday cake, which was specially prepared by Ambleside’s head chef. 

The team at Ambleside are no strangers to big celebrations, having hosted many parties for residents, on occasions such as VE Day, Dancing for Dignity and the Queen’s birthday, since opening the doors to the care home. Ambleside is known for its activity-based care approach – over the years, they’ve taken part in a number of nationwide initiatives to support residents to lead fulfilled lives, including The Big Draw and the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. 

Julia Joy, Home Manager at Ambleside, said: “It was wonderful to see the residents singing along and dancing in our well-ventilated café area to toast our special milestone. 

 “The whole team worked hard to organise the event, and I am delighted to say that their efforts were rewarded – our birthday party will definitely be one to remember for years to come. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who celebrated our eighth anniversary with us, and for helping to make the day extra special.  

“It’s been a busy eight years. We’ve welcomed some real characters to the home, built relationships with brilliant local organisations, and worked hard to create a homely environment for everyone who spends time with us here at Ambleside. We’re excited to see what’s in store for the next eight years and beyond!”
