A care home team in Bracknell has raised over £360 for Thames Hospice.
Residents and team members at Care UK’s Bickerton House, on Warfield Road, took part in a Santa Dash - walking over 10 kilometres - and raising £360 for the good ‘Claus’.
Thames Hospice cares for people in Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire, offering palliative and end-of-life care. The hospice relies on the generosity of its community, whose support enables the team to provide the best possible end-of-life care for local people.
Residents and the team dressed up in Santa suits and Christmas jumpers for the special race around the home. The team raised £180, and with support from Care UK’s match funding initiative, the grand total came to £360.
Erika Smith, Home Manager at Bickerton House, said: “The team had so much fun taking part in the Santa Dash and their hard work and determination have certainly paid off.
“We understand that charities such as Thames Hospice need support now, more than ever before, to ensure they can continue their vital work helping people in our community, and I'm pleased we’re able to help.
“Here at Bickerton House, we love raising funds for local charities and providing support for those within our community. We all had so much fun and really got into the festive spirit while raising funds for a worthy cause.”
