Sevenoaks care home makes donation to Age UK

Home news

The team at a local care home have made a £500 donation to Age UK Sevenoaks and Tonbridge.

The donation by the leadership team at Care UK’s Weald Heights, on Bourchier Close, aims to support the charity as it continues its vital work throughout the pandemic and beyond.

Sevenoaks care home makes donation to Age UKAge UK Sevenoaks and Tonbridge is an independent charity working in the local area to offer advice, activities and services to older people. In addition to AGE UK’s continued support for the local community throughout the pandemic, Sue Larken, Health and Wellbeing Coordinator, has offered weekly virtual seated exercise classes and kindly offered to extend this service to residents at Weald Heights.

Maria Covington, Home Manager at Weald Heights, said: “We’re very pleased to be able to support Age UK. They do fantastic work with older people in our local community and are on hand for those who may feel they have no one to turn to for support.

“Here at Weald Heights, we encourage residents to remain active and independent, an ethos I know we share with the team at Age UK. We hope this donation will help the charity to continue to provide their invaluable support for older people in the wider community.”

Gillian Shepherd Coates, Chief Officer at Age UK Sevenoaks and Tonbridge, said: “We are thrilled to have received this donation from the team at Weald Heights, which will help us to continue to support older people in the local area. We rely on support from our community to enable us to be there when people need us most, and throughout the pandemic we’ve seen an increase in requests for our services.

“Any donation, big or small, truly makes a difference and on behalf of everyone at the charity, I would like to thank the team at Weald Heights for their generosity.”
