Eye care home hosts health and wellbeing event

A care home in Eye is inviting the local community to a free event, offering local people the chance to speak to health and wellbeing professionals.

On Thursday 27th February, from 2pm-4pm, the Care UK team at Hartismere Place care home, on Castleton Way, will open its doors to the community for its free ‘Health and wellbeing clinic’.

Donna Potter, from Infinity Holistic and Beauty Therapy, will be showcasing a range of therapies and initiatives that can help older people to live well, including reflexology, and Dominic Nasmyth-Miller Senior, from Connect for Health, will also be on hand to signpost those looking for support in improving their wellbeing.

Members of the local community can also book in for a free health check with Chris Wharton, from One Life Suffolk, who will be available throughout the day.

There will also be a chance to meet the friendly team at Hartismere Place over a cream tea, enjoy a free hand massage, as well as take a look around the care home.

Abhilash Gopi, home manager at Hartismere Place, said: “Here at Hartismere Place, we understand that providing advice and guidance can be incredibly beneficial to help those in older age to live well, which is why we are delighted to host this event.

“It is a privilege to be joined by Chris, Dominic and Donna, who can provide professional guidance in this area, and we hope local people will take this opportunity to benefit from their expertise.”

Hartismere Place has been designed to deliver the very best standards of care and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. The home provides full-time residential and nursing care, as well as short-term respite. Hartismere Place also runs a day club, which offers older people living independently in the community the chance to make new friends and take part in enjoyable activities.
