Residents at a care home in Ascot are gearing up to take part in some avian-themed activities this January.
Inspired by the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, which takes place from Saturday 25th January to Monday 27th January, residents will be taking part in a variety of activities related to our feathered friends, as well as topping up their bird feeders and counting the birds in their garden.
Alongside Care UK homes across the country, Larkland House, on London Road, will be celebrating the best of British birds by hosting a special birds of prey visit.
Ann Harcup, lifestyle coordinator at Larkland House, explained why exploring our wildlife is an important activity: “Larkland House is thrilled to be participating in a celebration of British birds alongside Care UK homes across the country.
“We want to get back to nature by taking part in a host of activities, including finding out more about a variety of birds of prey. It’s really important that residents are supported to continue an active lifestyle, so this is a great opportunity for everyone to get out and enjoy some fresh air.
“It promises to be a great day, so we’re all looking forward to rediscovering the great outdoors and learning more about our feathered friends.”
