Steve Reader, home manager at the new Millers Grange care home, has recruited a senior team with a wealth of experience. This includes Charley Holmes, deputy home manager and clinical lead, along with Andrew Bedwell, head chef.
Commenting on the appointments, Steve said: “Millers Grange is a state-of-the-art care home and, while every design detail has been considered to provide the highest standards of care, having the right people working in the home is crucial to the overall experience of residents.
“I’ve worked within the care sector for over 30 years as a mental health nurse, including 18 year in the NHS, and I am truly passionate about what I do. I am excited to be joining a forward-thinking, growing care provider and to lead a team of highly skilled individuals.”
Charley Holmes, deputy home manager, has worked with Steve previously and is excited to be part of the team that’s creating a care home from scratch. Steve adds: “Charley appreciates how hard it is for family members to care for loved ones, having nursed a friend’s father in his last months. This compassionate nature is exactly what we’re looking for here at Millers Grange and I am sure she will be a brilliant support to me, the team and the residents. By combining our skills, we can provide exceptional, person-centred care to residents and their families ensuring they have an enjoyable and fulfilled time at a happy home.”
Andrew Bedwell, head chef, has spent most of his working career in hotels, restaurants, and heritage sites. This is his first venture into working in the care environment, but he is passionately looking forward to applying his experience and to combining the provision of great food and great hospitality with great care. Andrew said, “The key is understanding exactly what the residents want, by spending time with each individual, while also having the freedom to express myself creatively so that I can produce stand-out menus for everyone at Millers Grange.”
Steve adds, “I know I am speaking on behalf of myself, Charley and Andrew, when I say we are looking forward to taking on an exciting new challenge here in Witney and to welcoming residents to the home in the near future.”
