The Suffolk Awards recognise the individual achievements of Care UK colleagues with winners announced in 17 categories across 11 homes, including ‘Best Dining Experience’ and ‘Great Dementia Care’.
Senior representatives from the care home provider formed the judging panel commending the hard work of team members across the region and presenting winners and finalists with prizes and certificates.
Mills Meadow scored four wins including Sales and Marketing, ‘Deputy of the Year’ for Rebecca Calver, ‘Maintenance Person of the Year’ for William Bugg and ‘Outstanding Leadership’ for home manager Marie Reeve. Mildenhall Lodge received two awards with the Lynne Suite being recognised for ‘Best Dining Experience’ and Katie Goudram Gould being recognised for ‘Housekeeper of the Year’.
Hartismere Place also won two awards, with Angela Hodge awarded ‘Customer Relations Manager of the Year’ and Sarah Stringer awarded ‘Nurse of the Year’. Davers Court also took home two wins including ‘Administrator of the Year’ for Lottie Linton and ‘Carer of the Year’ for Fay Kerridge, awarded jointly with Rivai Polden from Cedrus House.
Phillip Steyn, regional director at Care UK said: “This is the second year we have held the Suffolk Awards and it has been great to bring the teams together yet again to celebrate our region.
“Competition was really high across all the categories, with many team members going the extra mile to help meet the needs of residents and their families. It was fantastic to be able to recognise the achievements of those working in our Suffolk care homes and reward them for all of their hard work.”
Marie Reeve, home manager at Mills Meadow commented: “We were thrilled to host this awards ceremony for Suffolk care homes. Everyone works so hard to deliver the best possible care to older people in the region so it was wonderful to be recognised for our efforts.
“I’m absolutely delighted to have won the ‘Outstanding Leadership’ award. It is above anything I ever expected - I look forward to celebrating the win with the team!”
