National Fish and Chips Day surprise for Mowat Court

Fish and chips has been an iconic British family favourite for many years and the last couple of years  it has been celebrated by holding a National Fish and Chips Day event.

Mowat Court were pleasantly surprised when their local fish and chip shop, ‘The Bay on the Road’ turned up on National Fish and Chips Day with their award-winning fish and chips for everyone.   The Bay’s owner, Callum Richardson, said:  “They were so welcoming and appreciative; it really was a special afternoon.  The cherry on the top came after I uploaded photos from the day onto Facebook and I heard from a good friend of mine in Australia as his dad lives in Mowat Court.

“My friend hadn’t seen his dad for a long time, but through putting photos on Facebook following the event, he got the opportunity to see a photo of him again – it was a very touching moment”.

Home manager, Kirsten Bell said:  “It was a lovely surprise for all of us at Mowat Court when ‘The Bay’ turned up at lunchtime with fish and chips for everyone.  Friday fish and chips has always been a firm favourite with residents and staff alike at the home, and the fact that The Bay thought of Mowat Court on National Fish and Chips Day, truly makes us happy to be part of the Stonehaven community.”
