A free care fee planning seminar, designed to reduce the anxiety of caring for elderly relatives, is being offered by an Ascot care home on Thursday 6th February 2014 between 2pm – 4pm.
At the seminar at Care UK’s Larkland House care home there will be an opportunity to talk to experts in residential and specialist dementia care as well as hearing from Andrew Page, a care fees specialist at financial advisers Ashcourt Rowan. Andrew will share his knowledge and provide information and guidance on funding long-term care.
As well as a fee planning information session, there will also be information and advice on power of attorney and an opportunity for individuals to ask questions after the seminar. The seminar will help visitors understand:
The home’s manager, Pauline Goh, said: “A great deal of stress and anxiety can be prevented if you begin planning early for your own, your spouse’s or a loved one’s care.
“It is important to learn as much as you can about the type of care you are looking for, whether it is residential or specialist dementia care, and it is important to look at lots of homes and talk to as many team members as possible, because the one you choose will be your loved one’s home.”
There will also be a chance to hear from solicitor Peter McGeown, a partner at Clifton Ingram with more than 20 years’ experience. Peter is Legal 500 recommended and provides a full range of advice services to the elderly including powers of attorney, court of protection matters, long term care issues and asset protection.
Refreshments will be available during the event and there will be an opportunity to look around the home that was praised by residents and relatives in a recent Care Quality Commission report for its high levels of care, dignity and choice.
