Our Melanie is a GEM

Staff Nurse Melanie Mota has been selected as this month’s winner of the GEM Award for Going the Extra Mile in her work here at Farm Lane.

Melanie, a staff nurse on the ground floor rehabilitation unit was nominated by two colleagues for her “profound understanding of multidisciplinary work, excellent communication skills and her holistic approach to patient care - very professional but warm and approachable at the same time”.

Liza Caraon, our manager said:”Melanie has an excellent approach to residents and is both supportive and encouraging which is essential when working in the rehab unit with individuals who have had life changing experiences.

“Melanie always uses her initiative and is a great communicator with all staff especially the therapy team which we greatly appreciate.

“Whether residents or staff ask for assistance – no job is too big or too difficult and you can be sure it will always be done to a high standard as effectively as possible. Melanie is a great asset to the team and deserves this award for her hard work and dedication.”
