An inspector calls - Fulham care receive a 'good' rating' from national inspectors

Highlighted home news

A national care watchdog has given a care home in Fulham its seal of approval, with relatives and residents praising the caring and attentive team members.

The Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) report, which regulates all health and social care services in England, gave Care UK’s Farm Lane an overall ‘good’ rating following an unannounced inspection.

The care home, on Farm Lane, received the rating in all five categories, which includes safety, effectiveness, care, responsiveness and leadership.

The report commented that the residents, their relatives and visiting professionals were all complimentary about the home, its team members and its management. Residents told the CQC inspectors that they felt well looked after at Farm Lane, that the team supported them, and the home environment felt safe. One resident informed the inspectors: “I trust the staff here”, with another adding: “I feel safe with them.”

The report also praised the leadership of the home, with comments from team members highlighting the positive culture and outcomes, both for residents and team members, created by the Home Manager, Chad Bain. One team member commented: “He is approachable and a good manager. We’ve been going up since he came here. I feel connected here – it’s like a family.”

Chad Bain, Home Manager at Farm Lane, said: “Everyone has put in a lot of hard work to ensure we offer a home-from-home to all the residents and their families and the whole team are really proud of their achievements.

“Every resident is unique so why should their care plan be any different? We pride ourselves in the high-quality person-centred care we provide, enabling residents to lead fulfilling lives in a warm, peaceful environment that has been designed to promote independence and support those who live at the home.

“I would like to say thank you to the team for their dedication, which I know is also greatly appreciated by residents and their families. It is truly a pleasure to come to work every day and be part of such a fantastic place.

“I’m looking forward to celebrating this result with the residents and the team and building on our success for the future.”
