Experience care excellence at Invicta Court

We are pleased to have been rated ‘Outstanding’ on our latest internal regulatory compliance inspection.

At Invicta Court, our expertly trained team are committed to providing the very best of care to residents. Led by a steadfast management team and monitored and regulated by Care UK’s internal governance panel, we are proud to have achieved overall ‘Outstanding’ in our latest internal inspection.

Outstanding leadership

The internal governance team report that the leadership at Invicta Court is visible, open, honest, and transparent, with a clear vision and set of values. The team also recognised the excellent communication between management and the wider team, with evident motivation for continuous improvement in the home.

  • The management team were clearly visible and present around the home and management presence was excellent, with the Home Manager knowing residents and colleagues by the first names and took the time to engage with each person they came in contact with.
  • The Home Manager played an active part in the day to day running of the service, with colleagues speaking of the Manager as well ‘motivated’ and very ‘supportive’.
  • Home Management team spend more time on care suites and in direct contact with residents and colleagues than in the offices.
  • The level of communication between the Home Manager, the team and residents and relatives was outstanding.

Delivering a responsive service

Internal governance’s inspection reported that our pre-admission assessments were thorough and ensured every residents’ admission into the home was both safe and suitable to their needs. Residents were found to be placed at the heart of their care, with interests, preferences and aspirations all considered as part of a person-centred approach to care. Inspectors found our activities schedules outstanding, with stimulating activities provided that continued to support residents’ interests and hobbies.

  • Care plans captured residents history, needs and interest including dietary needs. They were exceptionally well developed and followed to increase residents wellbeing.
  • The activity program, which was distributed to residents and their relatives, was user friendly.
  • On the dementia care suite there was also an additional activities program in place. Residents had access to the main activities program, however colleagues had noted that a lot of residents living with dementia at the home no longer had the attention span for some organised activities. In response to this an independent activity plan has been created to respond to and meet the needs of residents living with dementia.
  • The home regularly supported residents to fulfil wishes, such as one resident who was supported back to the Power Station where they had worked for many years and this had a positive impact on their sense of wellbeing.
  • Members of the lifestyle team and carers interacted with the residents in a positive way.
  • The home promoted meaningful engagement with the local community, including regular intergenerational work.
  • The home ran Namaste care sessions at least once a week with plans to increase this in time to 5 days a week and this was having a positive impact on the residents.
  • Residents they spoke with told the inspectors that there was plenty going on and this included regular trips out.
