Meet our friendly care team

The Franklin House team is highly skilled and experienced. We come from all sorts of different backgrounds and cultures – just like our residents – but we support each other to do our best work. We’re like one big family. Find out more about us on these pages.

Home Manager

Mathew V Mathew

I joined Care UK in 2001 from the teaching profession.

I liked Care UK’s ethos and what the company had to offer. I’ve worked hard to get a good team around me – having a team I can trust makes my job a lot easier – and many of the residents’ relatives have been great in supporting us to get the home to where it is.

Day-to-day I love chatting to residents and listening to their stories, as well as finding out how we can make their daily lives even better.

Cristina Tibichi
Deputy Manager

I achieved my Nursing Diploma in 2007 in Romania and joined the Care UK team in 2014. I was delighted to be a part of a big organisation, with its opportunities to develop my skills and continue learning.

Each day I continue to build relationships with residents, deliver effective care for physical and emotional needs, and provide both knowledge and support to my colleagues. I love working with such a wonderful team and learning from each other. I am so proud to share Care UKs ethos of treating residents as individuals, showing total compassion and treating people with dignity.

I feel so lucky to work with such amazing, kind-hearted colleagues and the difference we can make to someones life. Everyone we provide care for at Franklin House is like one of our own family.

Head Chef

I used to work in the hospitality trade but, when I saw the head chef role advertised here, my friends told me to apply. Franklin House was known as a nice place to work, and Care UK a supportive company to work for.

This role demands a wide range of knowledge and catering skills, from understanding older people’s nutritional needs, food presentation, baking and cake decoration to fruit carving. It keeps me on my toes. What’s great is that the residents and colleagues really appreciate what my team does. We also recently got a five star rating in an environmental health check. That, and our ‘good’ rating from the CQC, were the icing on the cake.

Our experienced teams

Every day Care UK colleagues live our values of passionate, caring and teamwork to empower residents to enjoy fulfilling lives.

Carers

Our hardworking teams always keep individuals and their families at the heart of the care they provide. We work with you to shape the care your loved one receives, the food they’re served, the activities and experiences they want to do – even the ways they prefer to keep in touch with their friends and family.

Nurses

The nurses at Care UK are highly skilled and receive sector-leading training, which enables them to keep developing expertise in different clinical fields from dementia to palliative care.

Lifestyle

Our dedicated lifestyle teams work hard to organise a range of activities and events at our home. From gardening and baking to quizzes, music sessions and even live entertainment. Above all, we get to know your loved one to make sure our activities are tailored to suit their interests and hobbies.

Home support roles

From catering to maintenance, housekeeping to administration, our home support teams play a crucial part in ensuring individuals enjoy an exceptional and safe service every day.

All our teams get to know each person they care for to ensure they provide a service that’s designed around their unique needs and tastes.

Infection control

Each of our homes have a trained Infection Control and Prevention Champion – they are responsible for carrying out daily infection control audit and ensuring cleaning protocols are meticulously applied.
