At Care UK, we believe understanding dementia can be challenging, and misconceptions remain despite growing awareness.
A recent survey has shown that 71% feel there’s little awareness about the differences between typical ageing and dementia, and 46% think dementia risks cannot be reduced or uncomfortable to discuss – and this is where, the Big Dementia Conversation, comes in.
Led by Suzanne Mumford, Care UK’s Head of Dementia and Lifestyles, with support from Angela Rippon, we want to get the nation talking about dementia and spread awareness of the importance of recognising the early signs and how to get the right support.
Take part in the dementia conversation
Visit our online advice hub which takes a closer look at some of the early signs of dementia and how it differs to ageing. Our advice hub features conversations from real families sharing their experiences, and expert advice from dementia specialists on how to navigate them. You can also find information to contact our dedicated dementia advice helpline, where our friendly support team and dementia specialists will be on hand to provide much-needed advice.
