Worcester care home sets up Christmas toy drive

A care home in Worcester is helping to ensure no child goes without a toy this Christmas by teaming up with a local charity to launch a toy drive.

Care UK’s Perry Manor, on Charles Hasting Way, has teamed up with Holy Trinity and St Matthews Church, in Ronkswood, to encourage the local community to donate new toys and gifts for children in need this Christmas.

The toy drive, which will be live at Perry Manor until Monday 16th December, is located in the care home’s reception area. The care team is encouraging local people to join them in donating gifts such as dolls, teddy bears, books, educational games, and clothes for children aged from 0 to 18-years-old.

Katherine Matthews, Home Manager at Perry Manor, said: “At Perry Manor, we are always looking for ways to give back and support our community and local charities, which is why we are thrilled to be partnering with Holy Trinity and St Matthews Church to bring some Christmas magic to children who may otherwise go without.

“The toy drive is a wonderful way for the local community to come together and make a real difference this Christmas. We encourage everyone to drop by and donate gifts that will bring a smile to a child’s face this festive season.”

Perry Manor is a state-of-the-art Care UK home, which provides full time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short term respite care.
