A care home worker in Quorn, Loughborough, is celebrating after winning big at a prestigious national awards ceremony.
Care UK’s Lonsdale Mews, on Farley Way, demonstrated they had all the ingredients for success and have been awarded the title of ‘Best Dining Experience’ at the Residential Care Services (RCS) Stars Awards.
The awards recognise individual and team excellence at more than 160 care homes nationwide across Care UK’s RCS division. The ‘Best Dining Experience’ award celebrates homes that consistently serve up great food, coupled with a relaxed and inviting dining experience.
Judges praised the home for thinking about the finer details and catering for alternative meal requests. Compliments went to the Head Chef, Lucy Glover who has worked at the home for three years, after training at Highmarket House as host and then Sous Chef from 2018 to 2021.
Lucy impressed judges with her commitment to ensuring that meals are tasty, nutritious, well-presented and of a high quality, as well as with her expert culinary knowledge.
Toby Sturgess, Home Manager at Lonsdale Mews, added: “We are thrilled that the culinary and dining teams have won ‘The Best Dining Experience’ at a national award ceremony – it’s a true testament to their skills, expert knowledge, and commitment to resident care.
“We pride ourselves in consistently serving up great food in a relaxed and inviting dining environment. We are delighted for Lucy and the expert kitchen team at Lonsdale Mews – they make such a positive difference to residents and cook some of the most delicious and nutritional food.
“They work hard every day, and the whole team certainly deserves to be recognised on a national scale!”
