A Yate care home is celebrating after being shortlisted at the 2025 Care Home Awards in two separate categories.
Care UK’s Ladden View, on Fletcher Road, has been shortlisted in the ‘Best for Architecture or Interior Design’ and the ‘Best for Indoor or Outdoor Communal Spaces’ categories at the 2025 Care Home Awards which celebrate excellence and innovation in care home management.
Having opened in September 2024, Ladden View offers a full range of care services, from permanent residential and dementia care to short-term respite care. Each room at Ladden View is beautifully furnished, individually decorated and has its own en-suite wet room. The home also has a cafe, Namaste room, cinema room and hair and beauty salon, as well as extensive gardens and outdoor spaces.
One of Ladden View’s stand-out features is the entrance space, which was designed to be a focal point of the home. Right off the reception area is the home’s bright, welcoming café which has become a busy hub within the home and is enjoyed by residents, their relatives and visiting community groups.
Ladden View has a functional design and is divided into four suites, for different levels of care needs. Outside space is important, and the home’s gardens are designed for easy navigation with lots of opportunities for residents to enjoy their natural surroundings – from sensory planting areas to bird tables, bird feeders and insect houses often constructed by the residents themselves. Residents are also encouraged to get involved with gardening with support from the team, with plans already in place to provide much of the fruit, vegetables and herbs for the kitchen.
Commenting on Ladden View’s garden, residents Anthony and Mary Farr, said: “The gardens are attractively set out and it’s great to be able to encourage so many birds to visit. We love the view of the garden from our rooms.”
The home’s purpose-built dementia floor has communal areas featuring talking point stations with subjects ranging from Charles Dickens to local schools. The idea is that these areas provide an environment for reminiscence activities, and they change as new residents with different interests join the home.
Sarah Daly, Home Manager at Ladden View, said: “We’re thrilled to have been shortlisted in not one but two categories at the Care Home Awards 2025, and are delighted to have been recognised nationally for our beautiful home.
“Ladden View is a care home that has been designed to support independence, health and wellbeing. Whether residents are looking to have a chat in the café, relax in our cinema, or enjoy a pamper in the hair and beauty salon, there is nothing we can’t offer to ensure residents lead fulfilling lives.
“We’re all keeping our fingers crossed for a win later this year!”
The winners will be announced on 16th May 2025 at Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington.
Ladden View is a new, state-of the-art care home providing full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the home has its very own cinema, hair salon and café, along with plenty of space – both indoors and out – for relaxation and recreation.
