Work has now started on a new multi-million-pound care home in Tring – complete with its very own café, cinema and hair salon.
When finished, the new Care UK home, on Icknield Way, will provide residential, nursing, dementia and respite care for 72 older people, and will create 93 jobs.
The home, which is expected to welcome the first residents in summer 2026, will include facilities such as a cinema, café and hair salon. Secure and wheelchair-friendly landscaped outdoor space will include sensory gardens, water features and seating to give residents the opportunity to spend quality time outdoors.
Jake Higgins, Development Project Manager for Care UK, said: “We’re delighted to share that work has commenced at Tring’s new site – this impressive development reflects our commitment to improving residential care in the region.
“At Care UK we take great pride in the build quality of each home, carefully considering design and layout in order to improve the everyday experiences of those living in a care environment. This thoughtfully planned new home will live up to these standards, providing a high-quality home for older people in Tring and surrounding areas.”
Matt Tucker, Contracts Manager at Lawrence Baker Ltd, added: “Construction is off to a great start and we’re on track to complete the work by summer 2026. We’re thrilled to be working with Care UK on their brand-new Tring care home, bringing our expertise as a developer to the project. We’re already looking forward to reaching our next milestone in the coming months.”
Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, the new Care UK home will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities. The layout of the building will be configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
