A care home in Cardiff is inviting the local community to a special sing-along.
Care UK’s Llys Herbert, on Ty-Draw Road, is inviting the community to join a special sing-along in partnership with Goldies Cymru on Wednesday 27th March, from 10.30am-11.30pm*.
The event, which takes place on the last Wednesday of every month, is a fantastic way to have some fun and build new relationships, while singing along to a range of classic songs.
Goldies Cymru is a local charity which brings members of the community together through music. The organisation, which hosts regular sessions across south Wales, was presented with a £500 donation from Llys Herbert to mark the home’s opening last summer, and to support the services which are hugely popular with the community.
Therisa Galazka, Home Manager at Llys Herbert, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming the community to another fantastic session thanks to Goldies Cymru.
“Music has a huge number of benefits for older people, especially those living with dementia, helping to maintain speech and language, and even improve mood. The event is a wonderful opportunity for older people to spend together, make new friends and share fond memories from their younger days attending concerts, gigs and festivals.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming Goldies Cymru and the people of Cardiff for what we anticipate will be a sing-sational morning!”
Llys Herbert is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the home has its very own cinema, café and hair salon, and there is plenty of space – both indoors and out – for relaxation and recreation.
*A donation of £3 is payable to Goldies Cymru to attend, all proceeds go towards the charity.
