A care home in Cardiff is welcoming the local community to its café to build new friendships with their neighbours.
Taking place on the first Wednesday of each month, from 2pm-4pm, Care UK’s Llys Herbert, on Ty-Draw Road, is inviting members of the community along to its newly launched Friendship Café.
Aiming to bring together like-minded individuals with similar experiences, the café is open to those caring for a loved one living with dementia to share their tips and advice, as well as make new friends.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to chat to the home’s expert care team, as well as enjoy a hot drink and tasty treat.
Therisa Galazka, Home Manager at Llys Herbert, said: “Here at Llys Herbert, we strive to have a positive impact on our community, and we believe that no one should feel alone.
“Building support systems is extremely important, and we are committed to helping local people understand the help and expertise available at our Friendship Café - a space where everyone will be able to relax and enjoy themselves.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming local people and meeting some new faces while enjoying a chat over a cup of tea and slice of cake.”
Llys Herbert is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the home has its very own cinema, café and hair salon, and there is plenty of space – both indoors and out – for relaxation and recreation.
