Care UK teams are celebrating after being shortlisted in six different categories for this year’s Surrey Care Awards.
The Surrey Care Awards celebrate outstanding people in the care sector, highlighting excellence and rewarding those who work tirelessly to provide consistently outstanding care in the Surrey region.
Jubilee House in Godalming has been shortlisted in the Nursing Home of the Year category, which highlights their commitment to delivering the very best nursing and dementia care to residents with complex needs.
Home Manager Jagpal Singh’s unwavering support of his team, and his exceptional ability to motivate those at Liberham Lodge means he is a finalist in the Registered Manager of the Year category.
Appleby House in Epsom is a finalist in the Care Home of the Year category. The home underpins the value ‘Home is for Living’, and this is reflected in everything they do to enrich the lives of residents. It is the first home in the UK to be part of Art Explorer, a facility which allows virtual visits to real art galleries with real-time interaction with works on display.
The Housekeeping Team at Horley’s Amherst House have reached the finals in the Unsung Hero of the Year category. The Housekeeping Team have been recognised for more than ensuring the home is immaculate. They are an integral part of the wider team, and they work tirelessly to ensure that each resident lives a fulfilled life at Amherst House.
The care team at Norfolk House have been shortlisted in the Innovation in the Practice: Older People’s Services category. This recognises their person-centred care, which is a value all Care UK homes uphold, where each resident is treated as an individual, their personal preferences and requests are prioritised, their dignity is maintained at all times, and the latest thinking, techniques and technology are utilised for the benefit of residents.
Finally, the Lifestyle Team at Echelforde have made the shortlist in the Service User/ Residents Involvement Champion category. This shortlisting celebrates the crucial communication between the Lifestyle Team and residents’ loved ones, ensuring that every decision about their activities is open to feedback. The team encourage a two-way conversation, which means relatives are comfortable to suggest ideas or raise any concerns.
The winners will be announced during the Surrey Care Awards ceremony on Friday 10th of November 2023 in Dorking.
