Care UK celebrates as Leading Women in Care shortlist announced

Care UK is celebrating the recent announcement from Leading Women in Care Awards 2025.

Amanda Holland, regional director for Central North has been shortlisted for Leader of the Future – and your vote could help her take home the title.

The Leading Women in Care Awards inspire current and future female leaders in the sector, providing a system of support, and awarding the excellence of those who work hard to make a positive future for women within care.

Just three years ago, Amanda Holland was working as a home manager. Now as a regional director she is able to support others who were in her position.

Having joined Care UK following the acquisition of a number of care homes formerly operated by Sunrise and Gracewell, Amanda was in the perfect position to support new colleagues in the Yorkshire region in autumn 2024, as a group of six homes joined the Care UK family.

She has instilled a sense of belonging for the new teams who are learning Care UK’s ways of working. By using her past experience of joining Care UK from another provider, she is able to best support managers and their teams during this time of change. Across four months, 600 new team members joined Care UK, and Amanda’s approach has ensured 100% retention of senior leadership.

One home manager commented: “A change in ownership can be incredibly daunting. I am incredibly grateful to have Amanda’s support. She is able to empathise with our position and provide personalised support to make the transition as smooth as possible.”

The Leading Women in Care Awards ceremony will take place at The Pullman London St Pancras on 4^th March.
