A care home in Cambridge welcomed the community for a very special event.
The team at Care UK’s Heathlands House, on Bullen Close, were joined by the people of Cambridge for their very own folk festival.
To mark the occasion, the team decorated the home with bunting and, with live entertainment from Cambridge Folk Group, guests put on their dancing shoes and showed off their best moves.
Visitors tried their hand at a variety of fairground games and browsed stalls selling items including vegan treats, handmade jewellery and crafts from local businesses.
88-year-old Mary Wright, a resident at Heathlands House, said: “I used to live behind where the Cambridge Folk Festival was held – this brought back a lot of memories! It was lovely to hear everyone enjoying themselves and I had a great day.”
Razvan Stanbeca, Home Manager at Heathlands House, added: “We were delighted to welcome the local community to our folk festival where we enjoyed plenty of dancing and sunshine.
“Our festival offered a wonderful opportunity for intergenerational interaction, as families, friends, and neighbours came together to enjoy the festivities. Children showcased their dance moves alongside residents, fostering a sense of camaraderie and unity across all age groups. The event was a wonderful opportunity for the community to witness the vibrant and active lifestyle enjoyed by residents at Heathlands House
“I’d like to extend a huge thank you to the team here at Heathlands House for organising such a wonderful event, and to everyone who came along and helped make the day such a success – we’re already looking forward to our next party!”
