Let the good vibes roll! Leatherhead care home invites local community to a festival to remember

A new festival is coming to Leatherhead – and you won’t believe where it’s taking place.

On 1^st July, from 2pm – 3pm, Care UK’s Milner House, on Ermyn Way, is set to hit the right note as it opens its doors to local people for a brand-new music festival.

The fun-filled festival comes as Milner House celebrates Care Home Open Week, a national initiative that encourages care homes to open their doors and showcase what life in a care home is really like. 

The special event will see guests invited to dance along to live entertainment with songs from throughout the decades – sure to get the party started.

Keen to promote the benefits of keeping active in older age, the home is also hosting a community Zumba flash mob in the home’s garden.

Guests will also be able to enjoy a traditional summer barbeque, including hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, and kebabs, which have been prepared by the home’s Head Chef.

Michele Message, Home Manager at Milner House, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming the local community to join the festival celebrations here at Milner House.

“Care Home Open Week offers the perfect opportunity to get together with loved ones and enjoy a celebration of live music. Many residents at Milner House have fond memories of attending music festivals in their younger years, and this event will encourage them to look back and relive their festival going years.

“We have many festivalgoers here at Milner House, and we’re really excited to ring in summer in style with our first ever festival. We can’t wait to strike a chord with residents and the wider community!

Milner House care home provides full-time residential, dementia, nursing and short-term respite care. The home, which features 46 ensuite bedrooms, has been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own hair salon and beautiful gardens.
