A care home in Newbury is inviting the local community to join in with a festive community sing-along.
On Monday 19th December, from 6.30pm-7.30pm, Winchcombe Place, on Maple Crescent, is inviting members of the community to get into the festive spirit by joining residents and team members for carols around the Christmas tree.
As well as learning and singing some classic Christmas songs together, visitors will also be treated to a selection of seasonal treats including mulled wine and mince pies.
Shirley Summerbell, Home Manager at Winchcombe Place, said: “Here at Winchcombe Place, we strive to play an active role in our community, which is why we’re looking forward to getting into the festive spirit with local people and residents.
“Residents have been brushing up on their singing skills and learning the words to some of their favourite Christmas carols ready for the event, and are excited to enjoy some good old-fashioned carolling with local people.
“The event provides a lovely opportunity for residents and local people to reminisce over happy Christmas memories, share stories and meet new people. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone for what we expect will be a lovely evening for all involved!”
Winchcombe Place is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, dementia and short-term respite care. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, hair salon and café.
