Hailsham care home celebrates launch of new nursing suite

Home news

A care home in Hailsham celebrated the launch of its brand-new suite with the help of a special guest.

Care UK’s Bowes House, on Battle Road, unveiled a new nursing suite, which will become home to up to 20 residents.

To celebrate the launch, the Mayor of Hailsham, Councillor Paul Holbrook, was invited to Bowes House to cut the ribbon and officially open the new suite.

The Aylesham suite is located on the home’s ground floor and features a communal lounge and dining room, as well as access to the garden. The suite will cater to nursing dementia residents with a variety of complex nursing dementia care needs and conditions, who will be cared for by a highly qualified and experienced nursing team.

Bowes House's ethos is focused on residents living fulfilling lives, which puts residents’ life stories and interests at the heart of everything they do. The home’s lifestyle team regularly organise activities which encourage reminiscence and intergenerational relationships, taking part in national events such as The Big Draw Festival and Care UK’s Let’s Get Physical initiative.

Ryan Harris, Home Manager at Bowes House, said: “The unveiling of our new suite is an important milestone for all of us, as it means we can now meet the demand in Hailsham and beyond for nursing care.

“It was a pleasure to invite Mayor Paul Holbrook to celebrate the home’s new suite and we enjoyed talking about the different aspects of care we can offer to the residents of Hailsham and the wider community. Our new suite allows us to ensure residents care needs are met holistically, no matter the support they require.

“We now look forward to welcoming residents to their impressive new home over the coming months.”

Bowes House is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has it very own café, cinema and hair salon, and there is plenty of space, both indoors and out, for relaxation and recreation. The home has a comprehensive activity programme, offering a mix of themed events and group activities.
