A Leatherhead care home is supporting an important charity through the festive period.
Care UK’s Milner House, on Ermyn Way, has collected over 16 boxes of Christmas presents to be donated to the Samaritan’s Shoebox Appeal.
The charity had appealed for gifts which will be donated to children across the world during the festive season. The home’s contribution includes toys, notebooks and pens as well as warm clothes which were all donated by residents, team members and relatives. Residents at the home got involved helping to arrange contents for each of the boxes and had great fun decorating them too.
Sandra Roche, Home Manager at Milner House, added: “We know that it has been an incredibly challenging year, and while we look forward to the festive season, others aren’t quite as lucky – which is why we wanted to provide our support for this wonderful initiative.
“The Samaritan’s Shoebox Appeal provides presents for children who otherwise would go without this Christmas. We’re delighted to be donating presents and hope our presents will make a difference to families who receive them. On behalf of everyone at Milner House, I’d like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.”
Milner House care home provides full-time residential, dementia, nursing and short-term respite care. The home, which features 46 ensuite bedrooms, has been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own hair salon, beautiful gardens and café.
