Ashford’s newest care home is inviting the local community to attend its grand launch event, where the mayor will help to officially open the home.
On Thursday 30th January, from 2pm-4pm, local people are invited to visit Montfort Manor, on Kennington Road, to join in the celebrations, with help from Councillor Jenny Webb, Mayor of Ashford.
With the first residents having moved into Montfort Manor at the end of last year, everyone at the home is gearing up to mark its official opening.
The mayor will carry out the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon and the unveiling of the plaque.
On arrival, guests will be met by the team in the homes main reception area where they can enjoy welcome drinks and canapes, there will be plenty of time to enjoy a glass or 2 and take in the wonderful sounds of Vintage Ruby, who will be singing throughout the event.
Residents and guests will also enjoy various activates including canine cuddle club, arts and crafts and can tuck into a delicious cream tea.
Visitors will also have the chance to meet the team at Montfort Manor and take a tour of the care home.
Montfort Manor home manager, Cheryl Shorter, said: “Since we opened the doors to Montfort Manor, we have had such a warm and positive response from those living locally, and we already feel like part of the community. We would therefore like to invite the people of Ashford to be part of our official opening celebrations.
“We have planned a family-friendly event to appeal to all generations, and we are delighted to have so many special guests coming along on the day to help us mark this important milestone.”
