Residents at a care home in Thorrington are gearing up to take part in some avian-themed activities this January.
Inspired by the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, which takes place from Saturday 25th January to Monday 27th January, residents will be taking part in a variety of activities related to our feathered friends, as well as topping up their bird feeders and counting the birds in their garden.
Alongside Care UK homes across the country, Silversprings, on Tenpenny Hill, will be celebrating the best of British birds by inviting Kayla’s Owls to join them for the occasion, giving residents the opportunity to get close to some of the magnificent creatures.
Donna Cousins, home manager at Silversprings, said: “Silversprings is thrilled to be participating in a celebration of British birds alongside Care UK homes across the country.
“We want to get back to nature by taking part in a host of activities, including a visit from Kayla’s Owls. It’s really important that residents are supported to continue an active lifestyle, so this is a great opportunity for everyone to get close to some of Britain’s most beautiful animals.
“It promises to be a great day and we’re all looking forward to learning more about our feathered friends.”
