A Cleveland care home has dedicated funds to a local hospice in memory of a much-loved colleague.
The team at Care UK’s Hadrian Park on Marsh House Avenue in Billingham, lost their friend and colleague Julie Crang in August 2019. Julie had worked at Hadrian Park as a carer for 2 years. Julie was a very caring attentive care assistant here at Hadrian Park who always went the extra mile for all residents and the staff. The team raised £500 in her name, which they decided to dedicate to St Teresa's Hospice which provided such excellent care for her.
Antony Gatley, Home Manager at Hadrian Park, said: “We’re a close-knit team here at Hadrian Park and Julie’s loss has been felt deeply by all her colleagues and the residents she cared for. When we spoke to Julie’s family about doing something in her memory, they were immediately keen to support St Teresa's Hospice, knowing that the funds will make a difference to the lives of others who were cared for in the same way that Julie was, and indeed with the same consideration that she herself delivered during her time with us.
“Additionally, we’ve worked with Julie’s family to create a permanent memorial here in the home, in the shape of a memory tree in our courtyard gardens. We’re looking forward to seeing this blossom and grow over the coming years, as we fondly remember Julie.”
Hadrian Park is a care home which provides full-time residential, dementia and short-term respite care. Designed to enable 73 residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has a Coffee Shop, themed rooms and a bar, and there is plenty of space both in and outdoors for relaxation and recreation.
