Residents at a care home in Cleveland are gearing up to take part in some avian-themed activities this January.
Inspired by the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, which takes place from Saturday 25th to Monday 27th January, residents will be taking part in a variety of activities related to our feathered friends, as well as topping up their bird feeders and counting the species in their garden.
Alongside Care UK homes across the country, Hadrian Park, on Marsh House Avenue, will be celebrating the best of British birds by enjoying making bird feeders as well as inviting children from Forrest Friends Day Nursery.
Antony Gatley, home manager at Hadrian Park, explained why discovering our local wildlife is so important: “We all love getting outside, enjoying the fresh air and spending time with nature here at Hadrian Park, so we are excited to be visiting the RSPB at Saltholme and join in some nature-based activities, inspired by RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch.
“Birdwatching is an accessible activity that those of all ages and abilities can enjoy together, and a great opportunity for the local community to join us. Intergenerational relationships benefit everyone, allowing us to learn from one another, and have fun along the way.
“We can’t wait to visit the RSPB at Saltholme – it promises to be a real hoot!”
Hadrian Park is a care home which provides full-time residential, dementia and short-term respite care. Designed to enable 73 residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has a cafe, themed rooms and a bar, and there is plenty of space, both indoors and out, for relaxation and recreation.
